Shift 04 · Conversion
It should feel like the natural next step.
You’re here if: You struggle to move conversations toward a clear next step.
Conversion means someone taking a useful next step, such as asking for help or becoming a customer. This Shift helps you listen, check whether an offer fits, and explain it clearly without pressure.
Not sure this is your starting point? Use the free 16-question PDF assessment.
Earn the conversation before asking for the conversion.
Closing isn’t the beginning
People decide whether to trust you through the way you show up, the questions you ask, how well you listen, and whether your recommendation genuinely fits.
If the fit or trust is missing, pause to understand the concern. A clever closing line cannot make an unsuitable offer appropriate.
“A useful conversation starts with understanding the person’s question.”
A conversation example
In a post, ask: “Does your profile show the person behind the offer?” Let interested people respond.
If someone says, “Mine is all links,” ask: “What would you want a visitor to know about you first?”
Suggest one specific profile change they can try. Notice whether they want more help.
If they ask, explain a relevant resource, any cost, and why it fits. Let them decide.
Return to your routine and record what you learned from the conversation. Continue to the Foundation Shift.
Put this Shift to work for free
Use the conversation example above: ask one useful question, listen, and suggest a resource only when it fits.
